The value of context
Organizations do not stand still. People, technology, budgets, opportunities, and assumptions change. An ongoing partnership preserves the reasoning behind earlier decisions while allowing us to reconsider them as circumstances evolve.
That context lets us spend less time explaining the organization and more time thinking about what matters now.
Structure and cadence
The partnership begins with a defined three-month term and an agreed rhythm, typically one or two strategic conversations per month.
It may include reasonable preparation, document or proposal review, and brief consultation between conversations. At the end of the term, we decide whether to renew, change cadence, pause, or conclude.
What we might work on
- Strategic and organizational decisions
- Technology, infrastructure, and AI choices
- Leadership or board conversations
- Evaluation of competing proposals
- Preparation for consequential decisions
- Facilitation among different perspectives
- Review of assumptions
- Implementation plans, progress, and trade-offs
Thoughtful challenge without taking over
A useful thinking partner should not simply confirm what everyone already believes. I will ask the question that has not been asked, connect decisions that appear unrelated, and challenge assumptions that have quietly become facts.
That can include supporting implementation. I will not own implementation or become responsible for carrying out your organization’s decision.
A partnership that can change shape
Some periods may require frequent collaboration; others very little. The relationship should adapt to the work, not require the work to justify the relationship.
Success means your organization makes stronger decisions and becomes more capable of recognizing when outside perspective is—and is not—needed.
Fee and scope
The partnership has a recurring fee based on the agreed cadence and included support.
Concentrated work outside that scope is estimated and approved separately. There are no automatic expansions or commitments beyond the agreed term.
